The shift towards eco awareness has long been the accepted alternate in cars and domestic products but does eco fashion really have a place in this forum. If like me your perception of eco fashion conjures images of bamboo shoots and clumps of grass sewn to recycled fabrics then perhaps its about time you cast a look at design pioneer Nadia Allens recent collections. Just a year out of Parsons Allen executed her eco brainchild to form Design Futurist in 2005 and was soon afterwards recognised by the World Economic Forum as a Young Global Leader. Conceptualising itself on sustainability, fashion and technology Nadia has to provide a greener enhanced solution executing an alternate directive to non petroleum based products. With a menswear collection in the process and several contracts to her name with Donna Karan to name but a few perhaps its about time we reevaluated our stance on environment driven fashion.
